This is the second post in the series of “productivity tips for mom bloggers”. In this post we will be talking about the planning and it’s benefits in general and in context of blogging. I hope after reading my first post of introduction on this series, you might have got an idea about what you can expect in remaining posts. If you haven’t read it yet, you can check it out here.
Here are the points that I am going to talk to you about in this post-
1. What is Productivity?
2. Why do you need a plan?
3. Benefits of planning.
4. Who are MOM-BLOGGERS?
What is Productivity:
The google definition of productivity says –“The state or quality of being productive.” Or “The effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.” Technical much?? Let me simplify it for a better understanding. Productivity is the measure of a person’s efficiency of getting the amount of work done in a certain amount of time. And when we talk about increasing an individual’s productivity, the motive is to get the maximum and important work done in minimum time, consistently. Although the term productivity has relative meanings to respective industries, but there is a constant hustle to work on it, irrespective of wherever it is talked about.
In context of blogging, there are so many social media platforms available out there. And certainly it is the need of a blogger today to be present on most of them for better visibility and traffic. I am sure you will agree, it’s not easy to be constantly present on so many platforms that too with consistent and quality content. For this, one definitely needs to work around to improve their productivity to get the maximum benefits for their efforts; and how to do it? The answer is simple, with a personalized productive plan. We will be talking about this in the forthcoming posts in the series. For now let me explain to you why do we need a plan?
Why do you need a plan? :
A plan is what helps you achieve your end goal in the most organized way. While we expect to increase our productivity towards our blogs, a personalized plan is necessarily required. Because most of the time it is an individual who is behind a blog or a page, the productivity plan can always be personalized according to his/her situations, capabilities and preferences. There are so many bloggers who blog about productivity but what I have learnt with my experience is; there can’t be a perfect plan for you that you can follow word by word. You need to always arbitrate and create one to best suited to your needs, deadlines and goals. So the focus shall always be on having a personalized blogging plan.
Benefits of Planning:
You have to agree that planning your day, your outing or your dinners result in most awesome and hassle-free experiences. Planning your social media presence to synchronize with your day, benefits you in a better outcome and increased available time. Apart from that here is a list of benefits of planning –
1. Planning your day allows you to find and allocate your most productive time of the day targeting towards your goal.
2. Pre-planning your tasks, allow you to handle the exigencies better.
3. It allows to be engaged in multiple things with minimal effort.
4. In context of blogging, planning your time wisely allows you to be present in several platforms with less effort.
5. Studies show that with proper planning, the chances of failure reduce significantly.
6. Planning indirectly helps you set-up a certain goal for yourself.
7. Better planning saves your investment in terms of time and money.
8. Planning ahead allows you utilize your minimum resource for maximum output.
I can go on and on, as there is no limit to what you can achieve with better planning. With so many benefits, planning plays a vital role especially in case of MOM-BLOGGERS.
Who are mom bloggers? :
It is a general notion that mom-bloggers are the bloggers who mostly blog about the parenting stuff and activities around kids. But truth is mom bloggers are the bloggers who blog about their interests like any other blogger and are a mother too. A mom-blogger can be a lifestyle blogger or a fashion blogger or a travel blogger according to their interests. It’s just that, with a baby around to take care of and in some cases; having a parallel job it gets a lot more difficult to manage blogging. That’s why it is essential to be prepared with a personalized plan more than anyone else for mom-bloggers.
Well, to have a better insight; I talked to some real mom-bloggers across the globe with kids having varying age groups.
In my next post, I will be sharing about the real-issues faced by them and how do they tackle them. So stay tuned everyone.
