Crushes…. oh Crushes!!!

while thinking about the next topic to write upon for the #BlogaberryDazzle i had to go back to the two last posts i have written. They seemed fun, so the theme should be fun and what can be the next topic that can give me a fun vibe while writing. Fun…. thinking about that brought me back to the college. The last time i had careless fun was in college without any second thoughts. The memories of careless talks, the class bunks, the canteen, speaking without thinking and that one college senior. Whom every friend would know and pass on every single detail they would collect by overhearing him or his friends. An innocent crush of a younger me. The butterflies in the stomach feeling, have you had that. A glimpse of that person would give you goosebumps. The smile that you wouldn’t even know when it glided on your face on the mention of that name. no..no not love, just another crush.

So why not let’s talk about crushes. We all have had crushes… right? An integral part of teenage…otherwise what would have we talked about…..me, still have a crush ok might be more than one. Anyways covid lockdown is all about reminiscing the past and feel nostalgic about things.

So here i am taking you back to my teen days and a long list of crushes……. 🙂

oh, before i start, i just remembered the untold rules of the crush world. Let me list them down and see if they are same across the world or not—–

  1. There is no hiding from the friends. In fact, it is the test of your real friends as well. Your friends act as little spies. Whenever wherever they find any information about your crush, they need to report it back to you.
  2. No two friends can have the same crush. The person who was first to claim the target is the one to go.
  3. The crush shall never know about your existence. If they know, the charm is gone.
  4. It is not love…. bold and sharp…not love just an innocent crush. If anyone points it out as love the magic is gone.
  5. The liberty of crush-world. There is no age limit, neither for you and not for the crush.

So, there they were. The rules. And now to the list i am already giggling talking about-

You know how we are so innocent as a child. Childhood crushes are mostly based on the heroic acts someone has done, either in the movies or in real life. I was mostly into movies and guess what the first crush i remember was Rishi Kapoor. He was a charmer back then, no one would doubt with all the romantic movies, cute face and those colorful sweaters. The teenage as you know how it deceives you. So i quickly moved one from one actor to other based on the movie i saw… But Rishi Kapoor is one serious that i remember.

And then came the era of Hritik Roshan. I was in 9th standard then and from the release of “Kaho na Pyaar hai”, I went gaga over him. The whole school even the teachers knew. I had posters of him in my room, the school bag printed with his photo, the tiny photo stickers on the water bottle and the constant supply of photo posters from friends. God, i was so crazy for him.

Well, I don’t remember when it wore out. But I remember spotting a cute face out of the lot in the first semester of college. Oh, i still remember all the little things and how i used to be dumbstruck around him. Trying to find out his name, where did he live, following him to his class everything was so exciting. My friends nicknamed him to talk about him without anyone else noticing. After which college was a smooth ride for two years until he passed out of the college. I even managed to get his photograph clicked by you know who, the future Mr. husband. Apparently he used this opportunity to get on my good list. After which the college was just about studies and marks and placement and no fun at all 😉 .

After college i really couldn’t find anyone real to crush about. But hey, there is this guy “Ian Somerhalder” found him in “The Vampire Diaries” playing “Damon Salvatore”, as of now i think he is going to be my forever crush. Not as crazy as the teenage or the college but whenever my eyes burn out, i just google him and feel the breeze 🙂 .

I am sure you might also had someone or still have someone who bring that meaningless smile on your face. A crush of yours????

This is such a cute post. I studied in an all girls residential school and college. No time for crushes. But during our time Rajesh Khanna was very popular.

With all other comments talking about their crushes, I think I had weirdest crush of all. I totally adored Sania Mirza back in college days. My room was full of her posters. And I wasn’t even into tennis. 😂

Loved your post. Especially liked the rules list – so true. I had my first crush when I was in school. After that so many. I still have a huge crush on Tom Cruise. Never miss any of his movies.

A lovely post. I didn’t have crushes per se but Tom Cruise in his heydays was a favorite. There was something about Top Gun!

A very sweet post Akanksha! I don’t think I’ve ever had a serious crush like you have described, though I too found Hrithik Roshan the hottest Bollywood actor. Perhaps we have a similar taste in men!
